Our Argentina Wine Tours
MENDOZA and MORE
The semi-desert Mendoza region, crowned by the Andes mountain range, offer a stunning diversity of terroirs, unparalleled natural beauty and accounts for the lion’s share of Argentina’s finest red wines.
Its climate, characterized by blinding desert sunshine and the use of a complex irrigation system that streams melted glacier’s water through a web of irrigation canals, is the perfect environment for the cultivation of its most prominent wine varietal-the Malbec, resulting in an amazingly rich and complex wine-a perfect accompaniment to the world famous Argentine beef.
Mendoza’s finest vineyards are planted at high altitude in the Uco Valley and Luján de Cuyo, the latter, the only DOC designation in Mendoza that is approved by national law and here is where you’ll find some of the best Argentine producers such as Catena Zapada, Trapiche, Norton and Familia Zuccardi, and many more.
Argentina wine-producing areas span across its vast territory, to the north in the province of Salta and its farthest and coolest south encompassing Neuquen and Rio Negro. In the latter, is where Piero Incisa della Rocchetta, a direct descendant of the illustrious Tuscan family producers of Sassicaia, made his mark with the revival of old pinot noir vineyards, creating Bodega Chacra, a self-sustaining wine estate, whose wines display elegance and finesse.
Through in-depth, professionally led seminars, you will learn about the characteristics of the soil, details, and properties of the main grape varietals, and the art of winemaking. Wine tasting methodology, proper serving techniques, food pairing, and proper terminology will all be part of the indoctrination with many occasions to test your newly acquired skills.
